You will commit many many hours to writing an NSF proposal and if you’re not passionate about what you’re writing about, it will be a very daunting experience. That being said, don’t choose a topic you have no previous experience or knowledge in – the reviewers will think you are not fit to conduct that research. So choose carefully!”
