Our lab studies hematopoiesis and immune system development in the context of specific, clinically relevant, genetic defects. It is an emerging paradigm that changes in metabolism play an intricate role during development and differentiation. In turn, perturbations in metabolism can impair proliferation and differentiation. We use primary, embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cell models to study the effect of metabolism on hematopoiesis and immune system development.
