Email 101: Writing Professional and Productive Emails
May 9, 2018 12:00pm-1:00pm
Email is the primary communication tool at many organizations. When effective, email can facilitate communication and fuel productivity. But when unclear, inappropriate or unopened, email can be confusing, delay responses and potentially damage relationships.
In this Lunchtime Learning workshop, Lisa Modifica from the Technical Communication Program (TCP) will explain how to write professional emails that prioritize clear communication and keep your workflow productive. Topics include:
- Creating an effective subject line
- Sticking to an appropriate length
- Maintaining a professional tone
- Copying other recipients
- Following up with a second email
Free lunch will be served at 11:45 am outside Thornton Center (please bring your own water). Presentation follows at noon in Thornton #110.
