Most scientists don’t enjoy grant writing (link to paper)! It’s often described as stressful, lonely, and time-consuming– but it doesn’t have to be this way. In this session, Dr. Courtney Peña-Lima will discuss strategies to overcome common challenges relating to writing productivity and discuss recent research that explores how to make grant writing a more enjoyable process.
About the Speaker:

Dr. Courtney Peña-Lima is a social scientist and education researcher and Grant Writing Academy’s Associate Director of Training & Research. She works closely with postdoctoral Grant Coaches to develop effective and engaging grant writing training curriculum. She teaches writing productivity for Stanford School of Medicine graduate students, and her research focuses on scientific communication training in the biosciences.
