Do you want to develop a strong writing practice? Or, perhaps you’ve already begun the journey but it isn’t quite working out the way you hoped? This workshop will cover effective tips that will help you start or REstart building a practice that works for you!

Sofie Kleppner, PhD

Sofie Kleppner, PhD is the Associate Vice Provost and Associate Dean of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs at the Stanford University School of Medicine. She directs the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, which oversees the 2400 postdocs on the Stanford campus. Along with managing the administrative appointments and providing medical and other benefits, the office provides professional development training to complement postdocs’ research activities. Dr. Kleppner serves on school-wide committees to represent postdoc interests, and also maintains a national presence through NPA and AAMC GREAT group. Her team works hard to provide postdocs with the most enriching training experience possible so that they can pursue their careers of choice. Through such programs as “Mentoring in Research”, “Designing your Postdoc” and a myriad of others, Dr. Kleppner and her team are committed to ensuring that postdocs use their time here as effectively as possible.
