Targeted to faculty, this session will share an overview of this important funding mechanism. What is this funding mechanism? Who is eligible to submit a diversity supplement? How is the supplement reviewed? This workshop will cover these questions as well as provide an overview of the required documents, plus a Q&A session you don’t want to miss!
About the Speakers:
Dr. Sheri Krams, Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs, Professor of Surgery (Abdominal Transplantation), Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Sheri Krams’s research team investigates the response to alloantigen and viruses with a focus on human immunology. The lab utilizes state of the art technologies to examine the underlying mechanisms of the immune response following transplantation including viral complications. Their primary goal is to expand knowledge to develop diagnostics and therapeutics that improve outcomes following solid organ transplantation.
Amanda Chase, PhD, Associate Director of Strategic Research Development, Cardiovascular Institute Operations, Stanford Cardiovascular Institute
Cecilia Ledezma-Soto, REACH Postbaccalaureate Scholar, Sheri Krams’ Lab. Cecilia has worked on projects regarding cancer immunotherapy and pregnancy related complications such as preeclampsia. Broadly interested in the field of immunology, she wants to learn more about how post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders can be mitigated by therapeutics that target our own immune cells using in vitro and in vivo models.
