The K-series Empowerment Bootcamp for Women is led by: Stephanie Balters, PhD. Dr. Balters is a mechanical engineer and neuroscientist at Stanford Medicine (Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences) with expertise in innovation practices (e.g., Design Thinking). Dr. Balters has successfully executed innovation workshops at Stanford Medicine as well as external entities (e.g., at NATO Headquarters).

The Workshop Series and Accelerator Bootcamps are led by: Amy Nippert, PhD.  Dr. Nipper researches chronic pain and has written multiple grants. Amy is passionate about helping others achieve their writing goals. Starting as an undergraduate writing tutor, she has continued to teach, mentor, and edit. As a Grant Coach, Amy is  guides graduate students and postdocs along their grant writing journeys.

Online Proposal Bootcamp (BIOS 299) — Autumn & Spring

  • Opt-in peer review program for feedback and opportunities to “think like a reviewer

Autumn (BIOS 242) & Spring (BIOS 263) NRSA Proposal Bootcamps

  • In-person Bootcamp specifically tailored for applicants to the NIH F31 or F32 fellowships
  • Weekly meeting with a Grant Coach provide an overview of grant writing fundamentals

Hanna Gray Proposal Bootcamp — Autumn

  • Weekly meeting (Zoom) with a Grant Coach provide an overview of grant writing fundamentals

Mini Proposal Bootcamp — Winter

  • 1-day in-person Bootcamp to springboard the development of your next proposal

  • Autumn Proposal Bootcamp and monthly coaching with Grant Coaches provides an overview of grant writing fundamentals
  • Seed funding for conducing feasibility studies, collecting pilot data, initiating collaborations, and participating in career development activities
